Criticism #1

Michael D. Tanner created an article called "The fairy tale on spending cuts" that is posted on the CNN website. His article touches on federal government spending cuts and talks about the consequences of if they do approve the decision to cut federal government speding budget and how the amount of spending will increase with every year that goes by regardless of the fact if they cut spending or not.  Tanner even goes on to say in 2023 the federal government will spend $2.39 trillion more than it does today. He also say that the spending cut was suppose to be for $85 million, but the federal government borrows up to $85 million every 28 days so that extra cut that is suppose to be taken out will be taken out in later years rather than right now. In reality they are only cutting 1.2% of the government spending budget. Medicaid, Medicare, and social sec will not be included in those cuts, so people who are enrolled in those programs will not have to worry about their programs changing due to the new budget. he also predicts that government spending destroys more jobs over the long run than it creates. Because the way that we create jobs is through taxes and borrowing money, so in order for new jobs to be created the private sector has less resources to put into creating jobs. They won't have enough money to invest in jobs because they'll be to worried about putting that money into something else. I don't think they necessarily need to make budget cut , but what they should do is try to figure out which programs and parts of our nation that truely needs of the money.
